Well...Let me tell you a little story about my chevy crate motor,,,
The engine in my blazer is 454 HO crate motor,,I picked up the engine,,, mounted it onto my engine stand and bolted on all of the accessories.
I filled the pan with oil,,installed a preluber and primed up the engine.
I didn,t like the low pressure I was reading on my gauge, so I called the dealer and asked them to speak with an engineer,,the dealer would not put me in touch with anyone, and said don't worry about it,, install it and fire it up. So against my better judgement,,,in it went.
When I cranked the engine the first time the O/P went to 70 and dropped to 0 in about ten seconds. I shut it down,,went over everything again and restarted it,,,same thing happened.
I drained the oil,,and started to drop the pan,,,I was removing the windage tray bolts when I dropped my wrench inside the pan,,,I reached into the pan to get the wrench and came up with a handfull of plastic wrap and cardboard
from under the pickup screen.
I brought the pan full of trash into the dealership and got the parts manager to contact GM while I waited,,GM's answer was to clean out the pan,,button it back up and extend my warranty twice what the factory offered originally.
Moral of the story is: I should have trusted my instincts when the engine was on the stand and found out what the problem was before I installed the engine...
