Received a new "dashes direct" dash pad.

Look at the wavy ridge right above the central AC vent. Is that normal/acceptable in your opinion?

Also not sure how I'm going to get new clips in, as the holes in the frame are filled in with urethane. I guess you just press the Clips in to split the urethane?

Let me know what you guys think. Should I send it back with the waves above the AC vent like this

That is unacceptable. I had a very nice 79 dash from them. It was near perfect. You need to trim everything on that to fit. It's not ready to go as is. It's a mfer to get the trim piece on.

Unacceptable right? I expected it to look like a brand new dash pad, not to look like something that has issues

If you're talking about the spring clips that hold it down you have to put em in sideways in the little square and then rotate them

Unacceptable

Waiting for a reply. They said they dont want to send another dashpad as it will likely be the same. Have you guys seen this before, with dashes direct?

I would not be happy with that...how big is the hassle to send it back? That would be one of those things I couldn't unsee forever. I still haven't got the dash for mine, but this will deter me from buying it through truckandcar.

why cant they open up one to verify quality BEFORE they ship it so they dont have to ship a 2nd one back ? ? sales people its not rocket science ya know . . . unless they are just a drop ship order company .

I agree, but the quality control should happen at the factory..that one should have never left the factory...if the company that is reselling it had to open every item and check it before they shipped it that would be a lot of time and money...and I bet most things are drop shipped these days I bet...the seller never sees the item.

not saying every item open to verify . in your situation they should open to verify the replacement unit is perfect .

It seems most of these repro parts are made overseas, with poor quality control, and poor fitment. That is a clearly visible defect and should have never left the facility that made it. I agree, before getting a new one in its place, have them open and inspect it first if possible

I agree with this 1000x. This should have never left factory. Distributors don't have time to check every package, at least not in my line of work.... this is a problem that should have been caught on the production level

They ordered another one which took another week, and promised to open and inspect. On the day of inspection, they told me that they received the wrong year, a dashpad for 73-78 and that it would not fit my 1980. Now I am waiting another week for the next answer. Will keep posted. I might cancel on them if they keep stringing me along.

They are starting to give me run around. They supposedly received three more dashes - first was wrong year, next two had same defect.

I ordered USA1 instead......

Let us see that one when you get it.
