New DD options SOLVED!

Cornfield, you must use conventional oil. I once went 20k on valvoline oil, and only had to add 1/2 a quart. Switched to amsoil, and used 1.5 quarts in 5k miles....

update

Well two updates. I started to have brake noises on the way home Thursday, the growling type. I took it to my mech and besides the worn front brake pads and rotor the rear axle seals were toast. Also the rear emergency brake pad, and one bearing....1K later I'm riding around in a newer feeling truck.

Since I was obsessing on the Burb I checked further. According to carfax it has a turned back odometer.....I probably will not be getting that truck unless they cut me a massive deal.

Still looking...

This has become a search/obsession... I passed on the Grand Cherokees( I am too big/fat/tall) to go with a jeep. I more than likely will be moving into a new place by the end of next month which will mean parking is a little tight.

I missed on a 2door tahoe last week but am looking at a 1994 Land Crusier.

Does anyone have any feedback on theses trucks?????

Update

I am currently looking at a Trailblazer or Envoy (hate that name) as my next DD. I test drove one last week and it was a cool experience (I didn't buy, the truck had some issues... tailgate window would not open).

So looking at the GMT360 family what should I look for and look out for?

The winner is!!!!

Yes the quest is over! I am now the proud owner of a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer!!!! Its a LS model, with very few bells and whistles, but THE HEAT WORKS!!!! So already its light years ahead of the Ram.

After working cars.com and autotrader for weeks, I found this one for sale at a mom and pop garage near my job. It needs a little TLC, but its cool. Check out the poser shot!

Watch the axles. Check if it has any recalls done.

Mom and dad's neighbor (a die hard Chevy guy since the 50's) bought one around 2004 and they really liked it...

...until at a very low mileage the rear end basically ate itself.

GM replaced it under warranty.

Wasn't "right". He bitched, they checked, nothing wrong. Rinse, lather, repeat.
After a while there was a TSB or recall or something, he took it back, they worked on it again, and then he sold it as soon as he got it back.

Have known others that drove them for years with no issues.

I haven't used conventional in 15 years in any of my vehicles. We have a shop/quick lube, and I was talking about what we see on customers vehicles. My envoy doesn't use any oil, and neither do the majority of the 4.2's that come in either, unless someone has just completely neglected that vehicle.

Nice! I'd take the side trim off and de-rack it. Like the TBSS. Makes them look nice and smooth.
