Last month i sold my 76k5( 4in lift, stock drivetrain 33's)w/ 400 small block and bought a 84 K5 its got a newer 6.5 w/ banks turbo, turbo 400 trans, twin stick np205, detriot locked and disk braked 14bff, 3/4 dana 44, highsteer w/ crossover, 4.10 gears and 37" SSR's
s-o-a-b gets 18.5mpg (500 plus change/28)

NICE

my wallet feels heavier allready (minus the 1300 i spent to upgrade from stock to built and better milage)

not a bad deal at all if u ask me.

A few guys here have topped 25 mpg with a built rig that has overdrive. 18.5 is very good for a non OD rig and the 6.5 TD. :waytogo:

FWIW, i just drove to AZ, and i was getting about 18 MPG at 55 mph w/ a strong head wind, 2 adults and 500lbs of gear in my blazer w/ the 6.2/465/4.10 gears. :D

and half of that tank was all highway, the rest was about 60% town, 40% hwy
so it likely gets even better than that but that was a full tank average MPG

NICE
