I have a 1981 Chevy truck, 4wd, 3/4 ton. Over the last 5 years I have been restoring, rebuilding, and modifying this truck for continued use over the next 20 years. Several times a year I haul 2 tons of limestone to recover my driveway. I have never experienced any problems during these heavy hauls. I would like to purchase some new aluminum or steel rims. The current rims are 16" with 8 lugs- the factory rims. Could someone steer and advise me of manufacturers who make a ( forged ?) wheel that can handle the excessive load I carry. I would be tickeled to death if it would a little fancy and still be functional ( high laod capacity). Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.:dunno:

Weld Racing Wheels offer forged rims up to 3200 lbs. rating per wheel.

You could also find a set of the 00+ factory aluminum 16" wheels that GM used on the 2500-3500's. They're the same, or almost the same, dimensions as the stockers yours came with.
