I installed and new flexplate and tc in hopes of getting rid of this wobble. It actually runs smoother than it ever has but is still wobbling. Just wondering if this is normal or not? I just got done doing a ton of work to her and all i want to do is take it wheeling, but this is holding me back. Heres a video. I tried every angle i could so you can see it on video.

Yeah that aint good. Was it doing that before ( all the work you did)?

Ive been fighting this since i switched from a 350 to 400. I put a new 400 dampner,tc and flexplate. The dampner has a crazy wobble too.

How bad is the wobble in your guy's opinion?

Yeah thats why i showed my hand against the bell housing in the beginning of the video. I cleaned the crank and snout of the tc also. They measure the same so its the correct size to fit into the crank. I had about 1/8 of a inch inbetween the tc and flexplate when unbolted.

You have to have the balancer and crank and flexplate/flywheel balanced together.
Does it vibrate when you rev it?

It vibrates but i think im used to it. Feels a lot smoother than the old tc and plate. What do you mean balanced together?

some stroker cranks are internally balanced and some externally balanced. If you have in internally balanced crank with a 400 balancer and flexplate you are way out of balance and thats what it looks like

Have you ever heard of a trans causing this? Maybe i can dosconnect the tc and fire it up real quick and check. Worried about the snout though.

When you build a stroker motor you have to spin the balancer/crank/flywheel together. When I put together my 383 the crank is "balanced" but when you bolt on the balancer and flywheel it has to match within a few grams. The closer the better.

When i first noticed the problem about a year ago i got a new dampner for a 350 and it was crazy. Almost shook every bolt off the truck. I put the new 400 dampner on, and it smoothed things back to where they are now.

I dont know if thats your problem but the rear of that crank sure looks unhappy in the video. You can unbolt the converter and push it back and idle the engine by itself to isolate the problem.

I got this blazer already like this. Is there anything i can do without rebuilding the engine?

Sounds like its definitly a external balance crank then. Your flexplate does have a big weight welded on it right?

Any tips on what to look for while its unbolted and running?
