one thing you're failing to remember... Summit and Jegs will beat most any retail shop out there. also, if they cant install them on your truck, alot of places wont even sell them to you.

really? I didn't know that.

oh and thats a good point sled.

Hey man, I have seen pics of people that grind almost a quarter inch deep and 2 inches back on the caliper.

I'm running 2.5" bs and it clears the caliper by about 1/8". It actually knocked off my wheels weights but it didn't drag the wheel.

I got mine painted from 4WP for $58 each, shipped. They aren't listed on the web site but if you call, they have them.

I was already planning to cut my fenders, now I just have to cut a little more. Oh well... :hack:

I got 4.25 with 37X13.5 on my Dana 60. I had to grind alot but they fit up in the wheel wells real nice. I actually rub in the inside of my rear fender.:D Now that I saw that beadlocked H2 rim I am thinking about those. I just gotta figure out how to get me some when I need new tires

Ira

Ira, you copy cat! the beadlock h2s were my idea:haha: too bad i wont be getting mine til my current iroks die (probably a good thing, itll save me money...for now)

if you work at a machine shop why not have someone there make you the disc brake brackets. I bought the dimensions off E-bay for $5. My dad made them at his work (machine shop). bought him a case of $18 beer. used my old front calipers, free to me. old front rotors, also free to me. old front brakelines, still free. I don't have a parking brake, its trailered so no inspection. I put in a D60 front, thats why I had all the brake components.

good idea...shoot I don't even have a parking brake right now so that doesn't even make a difference to me.

Ok everyone I finally have weekends off (woo hoo!) so tomorrow I'm starting by getting the oil changed in the pickup and next door to the shop is a big wheel/tire place....so before I check w/ 4 Wheel Parts I figured I'd check with them to see what they could order.

I measured my rims tonight and they are 10" wide and I like how they sit w/ the 16" wide tires I run...

So I will be asking for a 15X10" w/ 3-3.5" bs (I'm shooting down the middle, hopefully it'll sit centered in my wheel wells taking into consideration the extra 2" total width the 3/4 ton axles have over my current 1/2 tons) For a chevy 8 on 6.5....right?

If any of that is wrong...mostly the last part. Please post up.

I don't know the knowledge of the guys behind the counter so I wanted to be ready...hopefully they aren't just going to type it in since the axles don't match the truck. So this way I'll be able to just tell them everything they will need to know.

im actually doing the samething ur doing...but i just got the chrome nomad II rims....if everything goes to plan my 44 will be in this weekend before work starts again:wink1: .....i got lucky with my 14 bolt and got the smaller brake drums and my 15" rims with 4 1/8" backspacing fit fine...a little grinding in the front and they fit, oya....an angle grinder with a twisted wire wheel works muchy better...u can pick up an angle grinder for 30 bucks or so at home depot. goodluck!

Thanks...yeah I am still trying to figure out what bs I want to go with...3.5" sounds like the ticket but I don't want it to stick out too far so I was thinking of going w/ something in the 4" range but then it hit me...thats only 1/2" we are talking about.
So I don't think it'll really matter...3.5" bs it is!

-Avery

thanks but I like my MT Baja Claws...plus the size 37's are about perfect for me and I like the 16" width.

What tires came on the H2's, 35's?

OH and are H2 rims the same pattern for a 14ff? What is it...8 on 5.5?

8 on 6.5, and they're 35" BFG ATs

dang thats what I told the guy today and he wasn't getting it...I finally turned his monitor around and started telling him what to click on in his system...their search works like Summit's does...
so I told him to click on wheels, chevy, 8 lug, 15", 10" width, 3.5" bs, on 6.5 and he didn't get it...

Oh well...4 Wheel Parts was closed so I'll check with them and one other place next week then if that doesn't work I'll just order them off Summit.

-Avery

skip the crap at 4wp, just order them from Summit. they've got a warehouse in Nevada, you'll probably have them within 2 days. hell, i came home and ordered headers and exhaust on a Wednesday night, and it showed up on Friday afternoon.

yeah but they don't have the right bs now that I checked w/ the correct bolt pattern...

I'm going to go on NAPA and order the conversion u-joint to kick the ordering process off...then I'll get back to the rims..
hey if someone is feeling crazy bored tonight try your hand at finding rims...15X10, 8 on 6.5 w/ around 3" of bs.

Summit has that but they only have 2.5" bs or some crazy 4"+ stuff...

-A

Ok, I printed off the part #447 stuff to take over to NAPA tomorrow and get the conversion u-joint.
Looks like there are about 10 of them in my area and two really close to my house so I'll go and get that, one more item off my list.

I'm going to worry about rims tomorrow...I'll go to another local shop and see what they have.
