Banks pfffft!

If you want some real parts look up Diesel Dynamics, Bully Dog, Jannity, and the like. I already have my christmas list made for when I get my 02 3500 CTD. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Well I guess I am gonna have to do research on perfomance upgrades????? Thanx Willyswanter.
Bill

[/ QUOTE ] definetally research. Banks is the low end of all Diesel performance stuff. Gas performance too. The stuff they sell really is the worst bang for your buck, they are just the most popular and yeah you get some good power gains, but you could get better ones elsewhere. I know for 12V cummins motors, TST performance rocks. check this place out http://www.piersdiesel.com/index.htm

Thanx man, I'll be sure to do a thorough research before I spend money on aftermarket stuff!
Than again,
Bill

My buddy has an 04 Cummins 2500 Crew Cab. He had a shop pull his muffler out and just put in a straight pipe. Sounds really good and picked up a little performance. He has been checking around alot on the newer Cummins performance stuff and is coming up w/ either Bully Dog or Edge Performance... I guess they can both make BIG POWER! My buddy also runs the 4.5" lift on his and it really spruced up the exterior look of the truck...kinda took away that long slender look that they gave the new Dodges.
Nice truck and have fun w/ it!!! Keep us posted w/ the performance upgrades and what they do to the HP, driveability, and fuel mileage.

Well it's my daily driver work and play and tow, plus fuel milage is a big consideration for me as well as towing capabilities.

I couldn't agree more. I would love to have a Diesel tow rig myself, it's just so hard to think about that kind of cash output.

If I could afford it I'd own exactly what Tweety bought for himself. Is it stick? Mine would be 5 speed, tired of driving autos.

damn I bet that sucker is LOUD /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

loud is relative. I've got a few friends that have Cummins motors with straight pipes to stacks. One friend with an 04 F350 with a dual setup, no mufflers there. They all sound good, though the F350 sounds kind of crappy at times, 6.0L Powerstroke has too much turbo whine.

Turbochargers make great mufflers. There is no need for a muffler after that--its just restriction.

In high school two friends of mine had F350s with 7.3 indirect engines (no turbos) with straight pipes. One had 2 1/2" duals and the other had a 3" single. Those trucks ROARED. Loud wasn't even the word for it.

Tons of people locally have striaght piped turbo Diesels. One day when I can finally afford a new truck that's going to be the first thing I do. It's amazing how good the stock exhaust is with the elimination of a muffler.

Last year our local dirt drags were won by a guy with nothing but a duramax with a set of MT/Rs in the stock 265/75R16, a striaght pipe, and a chip.

Thats very true, ask any company specializing in Turbos, they do make very effective mufflers. Another friend of mine in school had a 7.3 IDI motor with straight 4" pipe, WOW. It was loud, and wow did it sound GOOD. At least to me. He had to put a muffler on it, just too loud for the polices liking.

Nope, it's automatic. I'm getting lazy from shifting a work truck!
