NEW K5 BLAZER CONCEPT

I didn't know chevy was doing that, too. Dodge has been building 2WD Ramchargers for the Mex gov. Saw a few last time I was in T.J. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif Too bad they won't build them for us.

hell, in mexico they still build the old style VW bettles (bugs). I might just move down there one day. from what i have heard they mexicans dont like electronic stuff and the junkyards are full of good functional parts off the newer vehicles. I could build a modern day K5 with all the new electronic gizmos for hardly nuthin!

Well, I cant garuntee that they are building these down there seeing as that i have never seen one. However, I did read that they were going ot do this and that would make since as to where they came up with the two door tahoe chassis to start this K5 project. I think if they really are building them for Mexico they should start building them hear again just with the removable top. 2 doors, not 4.

You need to remember this is not a new concept, Its over 2 yrs old! Heck, the web story that was posted at the top is over a year and a half old. You also need to figgure a few years lead time from drawingboard to clay model, then a few more to rolling concept. When you start adding it up your back to the mid '90s-when you could go down to the dealer and buy a 2 door Tahoe.

i still think it looks like an amigo on 'roids. AND it is 18" Dubs /forums/images/icons/confused.gif /forums/images/icons/mad.gif Or is that to cater to the idiots putting 22" BLING-BLING-YO! rims on a navigator and slamming it??

but i will take that engine off their hands /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

That is true, I am sure that the design for this began when two door tahoes were still available so it could be that they used the previous designs frame for the build up. It depends though. I am not sure how different the frams are between 98 and 99 as to how easily the 99 bodys would fit onto the 98 and previous' fram. For example, good luck getting an 88 chevy truck ody to sit on an 87 frame. Plus, the article made it sound like they took a new style chevy two door tahoe and cut the rear doors in and so on which would again hint towards the posibility of the Two door Mexican Tahoe. Who knows for sure. I always thought that if I were rich I would import a new style two door tahoe from Mexico (If they really do exist) and do a soild axle swap, lift and tires and cut the roof and make a brand new K5. Key words being, If I were Rich.
