Bought this guy this morning.

In very usable shape overall, door panels are trashed, other than that it's alright. Runs excellent. Has some rust issues, nothing structural and it will be years before the seats fall through the floorpan- so I can deal.

I sold my 1986 Nissan Hardbody because I had the desire for a full size truck. I work less than a mile away, so daily driver mpg isn't a concern. Wanted something with more towing ability than my 100hp Nissan (Which was an AWESOME truck, btw. Just not for me, not right now.)

Not to mention I've always kinda' wanted 4wd, while I don't plan on doing anything extreme, I would like to take it offroad occasionally.

MY FIRST QUESTIONS!

The funky terminals for the power window switch- Where can I get replacements? Is there a better way than these funky J-Hook things?

Can anyone show me a diagram or pictures of exactly how the driver side power window motor mounts? It was missing the motor, I got a new one working and everything- I just can't figure out how it freakin' mounts. I'm aware they are originally riveted into place, but I don't know where to bolt it in or anything.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

a good source of replacement parts and switches is LMC Truck, easy to find online, they can be pricey on some things but they have almost anything you could need. hope it helps, and congrats on the k5.

Congrats on the purchase. Looks good in the pic, and the price seems very good. I second LMC truck for parts. http://www.lmctruck.com/
Have them send you a catalog so you can go through it and spend all your money on parts :haha: Also, there's Classicparts.com.

Don't ask why, but my drivers side door panel is off, so I'll take a couple photos and post 'em later today. Actually it's been off for years because I keep planning to upgrade the interior...where's that lotto money when you need it?? :haha:

I took a look but couldn't get a shot of the motor, so these pics may not be any help. I could reach down to the bottom and touch the motor, but working on it or replacing it seems difficult at best. And yes it's sad that I drive around with my door like this!!

The window motor rivets to a bracket that was attached to the original motor. I replaced mine and had to remove and re-attach the factory bracket to the new motor. You may have to go to a junk yard to find them. Also think about doing the electric window relay modification to the switches, they will go up and down a lot faster.
