New Leaf Springs or not?

sits decent.... might be a tad saggy with the top on... either go cheap with just bushings, or if your feeling a little lazy and got the coin, go for springs... either way, you can get yourself a quality shock right away... you know your ride height isn't going to change.....

I was looking at the Bilstein site...odd they don't list the Blazer. They list a 1974 K10 Pickup

I'm sure we can get you a set of Bilsteins for your application :deal:

As for new leaf springs, they *could* help a tiny bit but new bushings sound like your next step.

Whatsa yore besta price?

That thing looks freakin sweet.

Thanks...it was really nice when I bought it, but still there is sooooooooo much to do....stuff the camera doesn't pick up....notice the pieces of rubber hose doubled over in the tailgate to protect the glass....the door and tailgate are all dryrotted inside...will require new kits in all of them.

It is my pride and joy...I just stand and stare at it a lot...I can't believe I actually have a 74 K5...it will never be molested as long as I live.

What brand of wheel bearing did you go with? Where did you get them? I'm looking for some currently. Long ago I got some Timken bearings that were made in the USA. Were you able to find USA made bearings?

I got NAPA's best...they are made in Mexico...I'm serious...I don't think anything made out of steel is made in America anymore.

Also, need we mention the steering box/frame crack problem these trucks have? Full weight on the truck, have someone slowly wiggle the steering wheel back/forth (1/8th turn left-1/8th turn right) continuosly while you watch the steering box for movement. Any movement, remove the box and check the frame for cracks. A repair kit can be purchased from Off Road Designs to repair the frame along with a steering box bracket to keep it from moving again. No movement, go to ORD and at least get the bracket to prevent it from happening.

Wow...the bolt on bracket is $139.00...I'll have a look and see if I am cracked yet when I pull the steering box off.
