Try the Bosch self limiting glow plugs.
I really like them and I haven't had any fail yet and I use a manual toggle switch and count.
I got them off Amazon after getting 2 sets of counterfeit g60s.

I got them off Amazon after getting 2 sets of counterfeit g60s.
I bought two sets of 60g but the CUCV has the smaller terminals and it was easier to reorder the correct 13g plugs than change out the harness or find a correct direct replacement. But the 60g will work in the wife's blue GMC.
New 13g glow plugs installed today and it starts with one cycle of glow plugs again. Old ones came out without a fight as well.
I will need to cover the radiator though, I'm barely getting luke warm air out of the heater with temps in the 30s F.

That is the plan. I didn't need it last winter with the old, plugged up radiator.
I have one but I have a gas engine so I'm not sure if I need to run it.
LS swap it and solve the problem.
I'm in the "if it isn't broke, don't make it a big project" part of the project.
Working on the center console and communication yesterday. 2 meter antenna installed and cable routed. I think the radio will get mounted to the center console, but was considering mounting on top of the dash as well.
Swap meet weekend.

Oil sender done. I had to cut down a wrench to fit between the block and firewall to have enough swing.
That was definitely the reason I lost heat last winter.
