Just picked up this super straight, original 81 K5 Blazer Silverado last night.... It has only had 2 owners bought by the dad new, and sold to the daughter who has been driving it daily for 19 years... Im planning on a slow restoration (as money allows) it doesnt need much, I will post pics as I go... This will be my daily driver/camping/trout fishing vehicle... I plan to keep the suspension mostly stock, I am having a set of 32x11.50x15's AT's installed tomorrow (man tires are high now)... The motor is a 6 year old Mr Goodwrench crate 350, and Turbo 350 trans with 49,000 Miles, she had done by a local chevy dealer (receipts were included)... New radiator, starter, alternator, A/C has been converted to 134 with all new parts and blows cold... Has factory 12 bolt rearend, with 373 gears, fold n tumble rear seat, power windows, door locks, power rear window (which works)... There is very very minimal rust, and its confined to the infamous passenger floorboards which only have a couple pencil eraser sized spots, the rockers are solid... The paint job is about 10 years old and faded, the seats are in great shape (I suspect new seat covers were installed at one point in its life), and the interior overall is complete and solid... I plan to change the blue interior to Grey at some point... Here are a few shots...

Thanks... been looking for a clean stock K5 for a long time... Usually when I would come across one I didn't have the cash... But this time was different... :waytogo:

I like It a lot. I will have a stock Blazer some day! Get that rear diff oil leak fixed. Also don't change the interior color. Looks good now, and will be a pain. Sweet rig bud, I really like it the way It sits now. Have fun with it. Send me some trout!

Thanks for all the comments guys... She is definitely real clean, not perfect, but clean... The single stage paint is a pretty faded on the hood and roof, but I've got some ideas for that... and I'll probably take the removable top back to the stock white.. As far as the stance, its staying like it is, nice and stock... Im having a new set of 32x11.50's put on those factory rallies tomorrow... The rear diff leak will be addressed for sure, as well as a complete fluid and filter change (front and rear diff, transfer case, transmission and engine) , brake fluid and a super interior and exterior detailing...Also doing a basic tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor etc... I will be addressing some of the minor rust issues as i go also... its gonna take time, but I'll post pics as I make progress... Im turning this into a clean daily driver...

Thats super clean! hasnt been one that nice around here since they were still rolling off the assembly line.

Someone is going to be happy if you change that perfect interior to grey too, thats gotta be hard to find in nice shape, especially blue.

edit~ That has to be the perfect color blue too.

yeah, I was out looking at it again yesterday, and even though Blue was not my personal favorite of the interior colors, it wasn't my least favorite either. its just too clean to change... So the plan is to leave it Blue, and repair/replace/restore everything that is missing/broken or not as clean as the rest of the blazer... I will most likely be replacing the carpet, and possibly the door panels as the tops have that ever so slight flaking that these trucks get as they age...

Nice.

Hey, can you get me some shots of how the roll bar and the spare tire carrier fit around each other? I just got a rear roll bar and was told the spare tire carrier wouldn't work with it...but you have both.

Sweet! Thanks man!

Dang, that should work nicely.

Am I wrong, or is that masking tape left over from the paint job on the tailgate cable?

Nice score on the Blazer guy. I wish I could find one that clean. You know that would look killer with a 2 1/2" lift on it........just sayin'....

Yes you are correct, it is making tape, lol... No telling how long its been there, the paint is definately not fresh???

As far as lift, I have thought about 2", but that will be later... Just tires for now, shes at the shop as I type gettin some 32's... Will post pics with her new shoes when I get her home...

Man, that thing is nice. Would also like to find one that clean some day too. Mine was solid, but not clean... or straight. So, at least I don't mind beating on it. But if I found one like that, I'd keep the beating to a minimum.
