I’m looking to upgrade my current rear leaf springs. The bushings are shot and leafs feels a bit “saggy”
They are from an old 86’ Blazer and are 52” presently.

I don’t think I need nor can I afford the ORD customs, but I see they sell Pro Comp leafs among others.
What would you guys recommend for AZ desert truck with street driving as well?

I have 37” tires on a 4” lift.

Save your pennies for the ORD springs. They are so nice. Ride good and flex great. My old rig rides almost as nice as the wife’s 2020 Silverado.

I can save longer if theirs are worth it.
On their site under options for shackle since mine is a 4” lift what shackle option do I order? I assume 4.5 hanger?

Do their leafs come with bushings?

Call them and talk it through. I couldn’t be happier with how this truck rides and drives. I’m not using a shackle flip.

i did a k5 blazer for a guy local . we swapped in 56" rears GM # 22-547 and i pulled i think #5 and #7 leafs and he was happy with the ride and flex . the rear was also ORD flip kit but just swapp the brackets side to side and you good . we also moved the axle back 1" with new perches and i set them for the pinion angle before i burned them in for good to work with the ford super duty 1350 cv shaft .

info and pics and flex pics in the sig line below under I BUILT THIS M1009

I don't have custom rear springs, but I will tell you that the two sets of front springs that I have gotten from ORD are the best money that I have spent for the ride improvement.

If you look at springs on SD springs, pay attention to the factory spring rate as much as how many leaves. Many have used Ford rear springs because they have a lower rate and ride better, but dialing in the ride height can require some tinkering.

I plan on getting some rears custom built when I get done spending money on an '01 GMC...

I’m going to call ORD Monday to make sure I order correctly. I do wish they came with bushings already installed or maybe they do now, either way.

If you can't install polly bushings you need to put down your tools . . . :doah::D

And even stock rubber can be cheated with a ball joint press . :pimp:

Well removing them wasn’t easy... and the old ones I bought came installed. I don’t have a press so I was thinking they would be a bishhh to install..

Not at all. Little lube and they slide in. Might have to use a rubber mallet or dead blow to fully seat everything but otherwise there is nothing to it.

I ordered the custom rear leaf springs today, so I could utilize their sale. I wonder if new rear leafs will make the rear higher or more level since the ones on there now are old and it gives the truck a bit of rake with the front slightly higher, assuming that’s why the rear is slightly lower or it’s not and my eyes are just going..hahah
Hmm...

Best method I've found to remove the stock leaf spring bushings is to set them on fire with a torch ,and let them burn a few minutes--then the rubber will be like marshmallow and you can push out the center sleeve and the remains of the rubber ,this leaves the outer steel shell in the spring eye, which can then be collapsed with a punch or chisel and removed ..

You can install the stock style bushings by drawing them in,using some 1/2" threaded rod and some flat steel or thick washers wider than the bushing's flange..first clean out the spring eye good with sandpaper or a small wire brush in a drill ,and put some grease in it and on the bushing's outer sleeve so it will go in easier--some use a chisel to spread the spring eye open a little, but I've had the eye break off doing that before..
If you put never seize or grease in the inner bushing sleeve, that will make it a lot easier to get the bolt back out if need be in the future..

The poly bushings are much easier, they usually only have a steel inner sleeve for the bolt,no outer "shell" and they pop right in easy..

they will build them any way you want .

also rear wheel opening is always smaller on out rigs . so go off the body line just above it for the best height look .

If I order leafs for a 4” lift like I have, once I get the ORD custom leafs will this affect my ride height and rear driveshaft angle? It’s hard for me imagine that my ride height will be exactly as it is now.... but I don’t know.

doesn't your truck have a shackle flip ? 4" springs with 4" shackle flip would be @ 8" give or take
