New repop 1973-75 K5 door available now

I saw someone had them at the Pa Carlisle truck nationals for sale. 1st I’d seen them

One less part to try to scour the earth to find for full convertible conversion…i’m running out of excuses. When they make windshield frames I’ll have none. Except the money piece.

It's about time. That door support piece is not that complicated. Too bad I already purchased some 73-76 Premium AMD doors to cut up.

Just a matter of time before someone starts making the metal tubs. Someone already makes one for the early k5 Blazers. I need new doors and new rear quarter panels.

How do they already have the product in hand but don’t know what they will charge for them? Kind of bass ackwards on how you do margins and ROI on a product. American made?

I've dealt with that particular seller once, in person, in his shop since it is 2 hours south of me. He is not organized or tech savvy. He is likely not the only place selling them either.

Who set up the stamping and made them for him? Those dies are not cheap, $100k-200k per die, and it looks like 5 dies to makes those. Just curious and glad the parts are available, I get excited about manufacturing processes.

I have no idea who is actually manufacturing them yet. Nothing comes up in a web search. However, not much tooling is needed since 73-76 pickup doors are already available. They could be making them by adding the extra plate after cutting them off. That was all GM originally did.

Looks like Key Parts is the manufacturer.

I’m waiting to see if Outback Truck Parts in Houston can get them for me. They don’t know pricing yet but I won’t be hit with shipping if they can get them.

All I need now is a tailgate.

The tailgate problem really bothers me. They made those stupid tailgates for 18 years and can't reproduce them. There's no way there are more people restoring suburbans than blazers and you can get their tailgates all day long. Okay rant over. It just annoys the crap out of me.

Hopefully soon. It seems like every few months another item specific to 73-75 Blazer/Jimmys hits the market.

Tailgates and floor pan parts are really all that is left.

No shipping. Outback Truck Parts in Spring Texas places large enough orders from Key.

I think she told me the doors are $480 each.

Lucky. If I didnt have to pay shipping (or it wasnt offensive) I would already have these doors on order
