New Ride! 78 GMC. *The build thread that never was?*

Been driving this thing the past week or so. Man, im tellin ya, The stress of the day just melts off as soon as i hit the key... Its the most relaxing stress free zen truck i own. I drive home extra slow so that i can make the trip home a couple minutes longer... Prolly doesnt hurt that i put a Johnny Cash CD in...
 
Just got home from picking up a tilt column and Orange door panel from 1BEATK5! Thanks again man! Hope to get the column installed next week.

Finally replaced the driver side ball joints on this thing new years eve. Its needed it since i bought it. :doah: Only pic i got of the process,

And i swapped the tires/rims from burb to pickup. Incredible what a difference it makes! Also incredible how bad it makes the burb look with those crappy wheels and tires on there!

And just ordered my next project for it! New body mounts! They are poly which sucks but its about one million dollars for rubbers. So i'll run these for the time being,

And now im trying to locate an electric choke Quadrajet to replace the edelbrock with. So if anyone in the Portland area knows of one or has one, let me know! I want one originally off a chevy 350 to make it easier.
 
I might have a rebuilder q-jet in the shed. I will look tomorrow. It might have a divorced choke. I know I have a couple of those.
 
That's the same color as my drivers side fender off the Suburban in the parts yard...

you have the "square body" disease...I am determined not to get it...I have one square body...I will not succumb to the pressure....

the paint on the Suburban isn't even dry yet and you have another one...:doah:

I do have a disease! I admit it! It'sa bitch but iI feel like in a strange way it keeps me even kealed in the other facets of life. I feel like it's a stable area that gives me a "center" when things get weird elsewhere. Whether or not thats the case iI don't know, but I'm pretty sure that's why Ihave bbecome addicted to it.
 
Got the body mounts today. It will probably be a while before I install them cause I'm still working on my Harwood floor install in the house. But soon enough!

I want a 2" tough country ez ride lift, 255/85r16 KM2's, original stlye 16x6.5 white steel wheels, with original style GMC hubcaps. And im pretty sure i still want a chrome warn bumper (with the rounded corners) with an 8724 winch, white headache rack, and a few other little details.

I know, i just with there were pictures of it! Could you imagine my color scheme that clean? I think it would be outright awesome.
 
he's got the correct poverty caps and Spicer hubs like mine but his looks a lot cleaner than mine
