New Ride! 78 GMC. *The build thread that never was?*

Also, thankfully, it does appear to have 3.37 gears and not 4.10!

Typo? Or is this a new combination I haven't heard of yet?

Martin, your so narrow minded!

My so narrow minded what?

Martin

no duallies, no 2wd, no auto, no aftermarket wheels...widen your perspective man, there's a whole bunch of good beyond the factory stuff! Just wanted to bring it to your attention!

While you may have a point here about Martin's love of certain factory configurations (to the exclusions of all others), I think he was commenting about your grammatical error (your vs. you're). :dunno:

That Yes, what meant was I have minding narrowed thoughts before myself.:D
now back to your regular scheduled programming!

I know a guy near my cabin in easter Oregon that hordes chevy parts. I know he has several d60. I also know he is hard up for cash. I going there for the independence day and I think I'll bring a few hundred bucks with me and see if I can talk him out of one. That would be a nice start to this build I think!

Better change your user avatar....your now a standard cab poser...

LOL

what's the front tag on there? I can't see it...

Bea, you're right! I no longer own anything with less than 4 doors! Lol

And chief, you mean the license plate? I don't remember. I'll check it. Anything else anyone wants to know about it?

Yes! When you have a chance I need a measurement from the top chrome strip to the bottom strip on the end of the box...you know behind the back tires were that bottom strip is on a bit of a up hill angle.

You are the only guy I can think of with a truck like mine that has the chrome still on it!

I am not 100% sure, Ryoken would be, but I bet that is the original white paint. I believe that is "Lacquer checking" and I have not seen that in years and years...

It does look like it...it could be repaint as well, you can still get some acrylic lacquer but the old cellulose lacquer I'm not sure about...I do know that some people have been sitting on NOS for years.

I have read and re-read this post several times. I still have no idea what it means. :dunno:
:haha::haha::haha:, just some garbled mumbo jumbo to add to the confusion!

The roof of my 80 looks like that. Truck had a cheap crappy repaint 5 years ago. Roof wasn't sanded haha.

Does this carb look right? I have never seen one with the little spring thing going from the accelerator pump arm to what I'm guess is a power valve.
