New Rule Opens National Forest to Roads

Build 10 more GM or Ford plants. Build companies for the american worker. But that is only going to work if people actually boycott walmart and boycott imports from asia. Too many cheapasses.
:haha:
Doubtful
GM has just slipped to Junk Bond status. Ford is not far behind.
Unions are killing our domestic auto industry. I read that 66% of GM expendutures go to heath care and retirement plans for their employees. It cost you something like $1500+. When you buy a new car to help GM maintain their union benifit plans.
Our domestic auto industry cant go on like this The outragious union demands for more money and more benifits will cause its collapse.
They are loosing sales to non union competors like Toyota, Honda ECT because you get more car for the money you spend.

I guess you can call me a cheapass. The next car I buy will be an import built in America by NON UNION capitalistic american workers.

I love Wall Mart. It is a shining icon of Capitalism.
I am tired of funding the UAW,Teamsters, ECT  socialism sucks

I agree WALMART RULES!!
They just announced they're building a SUPER SUPER Walmart down the road from where I plan on buying a house next month. I heard it's suppose to be 20% larger than any other super Walmart in AZ. I can't wait to shop there. Oh and there are almost no "little shops" around for at least 10 mi so I don't want to hear any belly aching from the "Walmart ruins small town community business" crowd. I love Walmart savings, selection, and customer service. Plus it'll provide great jobs for a lot of people who would otherwise be commuting since there are almost no other retail positions in the area, esp students and part time workers.

BTW, the "right to work" laws in AZ seem to keep the unions in check pretty well, maybe it's time for some federal RTW laws. (doubtful, but wouldn't it be nice?) IMO, unions were meant to ensure safe working conditions and a reasonable work week, not to fund your retirement, give you free healthcare, and become a driving force in corrupt politicians pocket books. The american worker is intelligent, adaptable, efficient, and ingenuitive and doesn't need to be taken care of or protected by unions.

The global economy is here whether we like it or not, and in some cases actually really does create american jobs. Example: My sister works in the craft industry(specializes in scrapbooking) and goes to China 4-6 times a year to source and develop new products. These products COULD NOT be sold if produced in the US, people would NOT pay the price they would cost to be produced here. So they are munufactured in China, and drive a multi-billion dollar industry that funds hundreds of thousands of jobs here in the US. This entire industry would not exist at all if less expensive production costs in China were not available. Any one who has a wife that scrapbooks know the kind of products I'm talking about. Oh, and everyone who has seen a scrapbook store pop up out of nowhere in they're community has proof, too. (look harder if you haven't noticed one, it's probably just around the corner.)

you have to watch the episode of King of the Hill, when Hank loses his job because of Mega lo mart. And has to work at Mega Lo Mart to support his family. " i tell you what"

Yeah, I've seen that episode. Have you seen the South Park Walmart parody? Pretty funny, especially the end.

In a perfect world mines would be reclaimed and forests would be replanted. This world is far from perfect. Do you have any idea how much coal is mined in PA? I'm here to tell you that there has been permanent damage done. I can easily take you to 2 dozen "strippings" on public property in a 2 county area where trees were cut and the limbs and trash wood were just left making that forest unmanagable. I can take you on countless drag lines to show you slate hills 2-3 miles across where nothing will grow.

We can grow fuel folks. Biodiesel is here. My friend is a chemist that produces and retails biodiesel. He uses it in his vehicles, riding lawn mower, to heat his home and make hot water. It is better for diesel engines providing better lubricity with less sulfur and next to no nox emissions with a small timing change and is cheaper then fossil diesel. The diesel motor has less moving parts, is more reliable, more effecient, and has a life expectancy 3-5 times that of a gasoline engine. So why are like 99% of all passenger vehicles sold today using the more dangerous, less effecient, more costly gasoline? Why do you have to pay a premium to buy a vehicle with a diesel motor over gasoline?

I dont get much of a chance to watch south park. If there was a family guy episode of walmart, i would have seen it 10 times. :D If southpark and dave chappel were on back to back then i would be watching it a lot. I do plan on getting the dvd season collection.

I love king of the hill. It is so redneck. I want to live in texas in the 100degree weather and own a pickup truck. And use propane. "i tell you what"

theres numerous episodes of hank going to mega lo mart because he has to. Everytime he goes in there, the teenager employee never has a clue where things are at.

What? Unions are bad? I saw some of the stallone movie of him being a union guy and it was somewhat good until the scandels. Unions do have their pros and cons, and i think they do a lot besides the car manufac jobs. But i have seen the GM issue with the union paying all those benefits and it is just draining them dry. I love GM a lot and want them to be huge. They made the fiero. They have tons of secret warehouses with their prototype cars and road tracks for testing.

And why would you buy an asian car? EW I try to avoid cars that putting a wing on has no effect at all.

There was a documentary about walmart on cable. Pretty much showed the good and bad sides of walmart. I think if "Sam" the guy that is walmart was still around. Then walmart would be a lot different in my eyes. The new CEO seems to be the typical CEO where everything is about money.

Walmart also faces a lot of lawsuits from employees. Management treats employees like trash and there are issues of people not getting paid.

There is an organization out there that protests against walmart from opening in towns. There was one here in chicago and the city didn't allow walmart to build. A lot of small (farm) towns dont want a walmart in their city too.

ah, im too tired to type.

In conclusion, walmart sucks and so does the smiley face that drops prices.
