put my new rough country nitro shocks on my blazer today.. everything went well but now the new shocks squeak.. when i put the ends together i used wd40 to get the bushings in.. is this what is making them squeak or should i have used grease? i still have to do the rear so i dont want to have the same problem with the squeaks...

thanks

I usually put a little axle grease on shocks when I install them. My recently installed rough countrys don't squeak. Not a squeak I can hear anyway.

im thinking the squeaks are from using wd40 to get the rubber and bushings in the shock eye.... i think i will try axle grease on the rears....

grease...

WD wont last in there anyway, in a couple days it'll be like it was never used...

i hope it doesnt last long.. this squeaking is getting old and embarrassing..lol i used grease on the rear shocks today and that made a big difference, so if it doesnt stop im taking it apart again and putting some grease on them... thanks for the replies....

Heard that somewhere once. Mine have never squeaked.

I use black Moly grease, for every single thing I take apart and put back together. Slight tangent, I like having a different Blazer that is a clean sheet of paper for me, but I hate it in another way. Until I've removed and replaced every single bolt on it it's frustrating to work on. Half the bolts I try to remove snap right now.

Greasing everything as it goes back together makes life so nice farther down the road.
