New Soft Tops for 1st Gen.

I like the length of the windows on your bestop, and don't mind the shortness/skinniness of them (i like it on the side curtain windows), but I'd prefer to see a more stream-lined top, without the obvious bow-lines. bet you have nice headroom in the back tho!

yea plenty of headroom, but it also doesnt seal up all the way in the back, im actually gonna take it to a boat shop this summer when i put it back on to get something added on to seal up the corners in the rear.

also with my soft top on i cant fit in 7ft tall garages, with it down or with my hard top on i can, but barely

I would be careful if its a company in Denver. STC was in Denver, they kept my money and I never got my soft top. Gave me the run around for weeks

Yeah me too, I had to take them to small claims. It sucked. They kept tellin me there was no money in the kitty.
Didnt mean to hi-jack....

OK
I just spoke to Softopper today and they have a 1st Gen in the shop and have worked out the hardware.

I passed along the the larger window request and they said they will put the largest size they can into the design.

We should be seeing more progress in a few days.

Also they are planning on producing a 2nd Gen soft top and they have one scheduled for next week to do the takeoff work.

They will be shipping the 3rd Gen tops this week.

Thanks for the follow up, way to put some motivation into Softopper, they will make some money filling these orders for sure.

"way to put some motivation into Softopper"

Thanks, These brothers are extremely nice people and I hope they can reap the rewards from producing a design everyone likes.

They have even posted the 1st Gen tops will be available in June on there website.

I like the optional screen window they did for the Gen 3. Hope they do it for the 1st Gen's too.

Well I hope the folks here have a better understanding of who I am as a fellow enthusiast. I'm certainly glad I asked the questions and found this company who was more than willing to get involved.

It looks nice and tight to me. Anybody else care to comment?

It certainly is a good looking top. I would like to see pictures of it being colapsed and all the way down. But yeah, nice top

I think it is a great looking top and priced fairly, if I hadn't lucked out and bought a barely used STC for mine I'd be all over this one. Nice job Michael!

I will be putting in my order for a 1st gen top on the 31st of this month. Thank you for helping to make this happen!

Yukon Jack and Fishinnutt,
Thank You for your kind words. I'm sure I'll be asking for your help in the coming months on a variety of advice for my Jimmy.

I too will be putting in my order this week.

Nice job.... :waytogo:

I'm very interested to see one installed on a CK5ers truck, and to hear some firsthand experiences with the installation and build quality.

I'd really like to see some photos of the top collapsed, and of the mounting hardware to see what's really involved in getting one of these installed.

Are there any color options... ???

:usaflag:

I like to see some pics shot through the back. I'm getting ready to do my cage and want to make sure I leave clearance for the top if at all possible.
