Can you shim a starter to much? I just replaced it today and when I shimmed the last one a year ago it only needed a half of the thinnest one but today I used the three that came with the starter and I had to buy another pack of them and used all of them also to get the clearance between the flywheel and the shaft on the starter. Its like 1/4" or 3/8" about of shimms. It starts and sounds fine but is it going to be cool with that much?
