New TB Spacer, now it won't idle at first

Just installed a new TBI spacer, along with new pod and fuel injectors, pod spacer, and adj fuel regulator (fuel at 15 psi), recent plug wires, plugs. Now when on a cold start, it starts right up idling up to about 1300 rpm, but then drops down quickly and dies. You start it back up, same thing. Basically unless you feather the gas pedal for about 10 sec to keep the idle up and running, it will die. It will then stabilize and idle fine at about 700rpm, no problems till the next cold start the next morning...it always starts and idles fine throughout the day. Is this the norm for spacers??

no, it's not right
not sure how a choke works on those but you might want to check out any sensors or wires that has to deal with them. Also any possible air leaks maybe.

Just guessing

You've double checked all your electrical connections, vacuum connections? Did you clean the throttle body while you had it apart? If it didn't do this before you worked on it, chances are the problem is related to whatever you worked on. So, start there.

Check for vacuum leaks around the base gasket and check any vacuum lines you may have worked with or around, one may be cracked or split and leaking.

sounds like like a vac leak at the base... IAC is working overtime to compensate for it... probably seals up when it warms up and expands...
