carter is a name brand carb. My friend runs a shop that specializes in Jeeps and they install carters as an upgrade.

if you can handle the cost a truck avenger carb would be a good buy. I love mine. I bolted it to the intake, adjusted the choke and idle and have not messed with it in years.

wow can't believe it's been over a month since I heard my beast run!!!! Finnaly got it goin today!!! sounds like a million bucks....at idle..lol..the timing is off slightly...didn't have time to fine tune it had to run to school...BUT IT RUNS AGAIN!! even with the timing off you can still hear and feel the extra power.
so here is the whole story....got the old carb from a friend fought tooth and nail to get it on and adapted to my rig...didn't work!!! wasn't delivering fuel!!! so sat around trying to figure something out...huge budget restriction! came across a holly street avenger for $80...didn't want to go to a holly cause I had heard a bunch of negatives. but money was right so I took it!! got it home and was immediately sorry...I knew I would have to change some stuff but didn't think it would be as difficult as it was!! I spent 2 whole days drivin around town tryin to figure out what exactly I needed!!! then came here and someone reminded me how stupid I was and told me to go to Summit!! thank you! went there got what I needed to block of the EGR (vacuum line ran smack dab into it) change the throttle mount, and hook up the kickdown cable.

prepared to waited a week for that to get here...was here in two days instead!! started playing with it the next day and found that the kickdown lever wasn't what I needed...and the fuel line didn't match up...different threads! All I needed for the kickdown was a stud...tried to explain that to the guy at summit but must not have explained it well. anyway...went around town monday again to find a fitting for the fuel line...no one had what I needed! had one place order me an adapter fitting...then got there wednesday to pick it up and realized the damn fitting had the same threads as another adapter that had been hangin on the wall!! anyway got that along with a stud for my kickdown (also hangin on wall!!!) and took it home...about 45 min of foolin around with it I was able to fire it up!!! still have some fine tuning to do that I won't be able to get to until monday..have to drive to eugene this weekend to watch arizona get their asses handed to em!!!! Oregon Duck football game! but come monday evening I should have the carb all squared away and the rear end put back together and tuesday have it out in the mud near home for a test run!!!! might tinker with it tomorrow morning if I have time before school!

nothing yet...need to wait for money. found quite a few axles here around me for good prices. feel bad cause I had lined up to get a set from one guy buy my money fell through. probably by next summer I will have bought a set of 3/4 axles think I'll go with 4.10 in the back
