New to me Diesel tow & expo rig!

Those are great trucks. I'm jealous.

I noticed it said later model with a turbo, is it the IDI or powerstroke?

Yeah the hypermax is a good setup I belive it uses the same turbo as the factory 7.3 turboed trucks

The compressor side of the turbo is the same as the factory turbo, but the turbine housing is t4 (factory kit is a small t3 housing) It has slower spool, but less egt and more overall power.

Have you turned up the pump yet?

No still working on getting it to pass safety and get it registered. I have to remove the window tint and replace the TREs

Took the first trip with the new truck to Capitol Reef NP and Goblin valley UT.
Got 15 on both tanks and drove about 700 miles in 5 days. The front bench seat sucks! I did get a 40 20 40 seat already and it's way better.

Diesel in Hanksville UT was 4.30:eek1: .60 more than SLC at the time. I have to pull both tanks due to the fuel gauges not working properly and I've read where guys are putting a 33 gallon Bronco tank back there for the extra capacity. I'm thinking that will give a decent range (19 x 33 = 52 gallons x 15 mpg= 780 miles) without to much hassle or expense. I also need to figure out my bouncing speedo which affects my cruise control.

That is cool, already using it to enjoy your time with the kids.:thumb:

Yeah the kids had a great time. The first night camping it was 27.
I need to remove the rear window tint also the girls don't like it. I'd also like to remove the running boards but the girls want to keep them so they will stay for a couple of years.
The truck is no power house but does go down the hwy very well except for the steepest hills.
So far I'm really happy with it and think it will serve us well.

Well we have taken 2 more trips with this truck down to Southern UT and I really like it. The speedo stopped working on the last trip but the mpg is comparable to the first trip. I know this is not going to be taken well here but Ford trucks from those years are King!
