Hey Folks.

Some may know me from the Handle and many dont. I am in no way new to K trucks but very new to this site. Should have joined years ago but never got around to it.

Reason for visit today was seeing what I could find on 4l80 swaps in the K5 and though I found some info I did not find anything along the lines of the swap I am doing.

I'm one of those guys that cant keep a transmission alive to save his life.(in this Blazer anyway) I've pulled the 700r4 with full manual Valve body and every goodie money can buy out of the blazer and now placed in one of the K10's to do this 4l80 swap.

So here is the swap. 4l80E that has been rebuilt with all the best clutches and is sporting transGo Full Manual Valve body. I kept the adapter that was between the 4l80 and np236 seeing how much shorter it was then the normal 208/241 adapter. I'm going to use the np241 with the 236 adapter. The 241 has SYE. All I had to was have the input on the 241 swapped out to match 32 spline of the 4l80.

So 4l80,236 adapter to 241 with sye. Only other change was to have Kert at Diy4X make me some engine side mounts at an 1 5/8 offset. With these changes the 4l80/241 fall back in same location as the 700r4/241 location. Though I did manage to clock the t-case down for this swap.

I found that I could use same cross-member. This swap is very simple and I am suprised its not been done more. And Keep in mind I have 14 inchs of lift.

I will post link to Photobucket Album for the Blazer as soon as site allows me.

Mike,

You neglected to tell everyone that you are going through all this cause you recently installed a DIY4X wraptor set up.

Not really Mike, Its really so I stop busting Transmissions everytime I take the truck for a ride. Wayne My tranny guy is tired of building 700's for me.

Sorry, that was insinuated on my part as you mentioned it in your OP. I only mention the Wraptor set up because I would be certain that there would be questions regarding moving your engine forward and such. Drive on!

Edit: plus driveshaft angle on your 12+ of lift.....LOL

Because the transmission/Tcase combo will fall back in same location as the old combo I have no worries about Wraptor or Driveshafts. Pinion Angle will not change in the rear at all.

The front will change however because I have clocked the t-case down.

I managed to get this planned and figured out prefectly. Cant wait for you to see it at Blazer Bath in Nov bro.

Currently I'm running 4.56 which could change back to 5.13 anytime
I also run different size tires but currently it's sitting on 38.5 boggers. Sometimes
I toss the 42 swampers on.
