thats f**king awesome. you did a real good job. if i didnt see the pic of the out side at first i'd be fooled into that being a new RV.

And it has a hefty appetite!

cybrfire said:Right now the plan is to,
1. Paint it semi gloss black.
2. Three windows on each side will be removed maybe a few more. Tinting would be cool.
3. There is a storage area in the rear. This will be shortened, master bedroom moved back and a toilet and shower added.
4. Probably put some tool boxes under the skirts in the unused areas. which might involve an aluminum wrap.
5. Observation platform on top.
6. Little bit of this and that in the interior and exterior. just clean up stuff.
7. Escape hatch in the roof next to the driver seat with a gun turret![]()

...wish I saw it first!...
)..but it looks real comfy inside, and I have thought about making an old school bus into a camper in years past, but lately I've seen quite a few good deals on used motorhomes in my neighborhood (there are 3 large RV dealerships within a mile of my house, and many "trade ins" get bought by mechanics and other employees there and they re-sell them at reasonable cost to supplement their income..)
...now I want to get one!

Other than that, awesome score!

It could use some new paint (unless you want to name it "Barney")..but it looks real comfy inside, and I have thought about making an old school bus into a camper in years past, but lately I've seen quite a few good deals on used motorhomes in my neighborhood (there are 3 large RV dealerships within a mile of my house, and many "trade ins" get bought by mechanics and other employees there and they re-sell them at reasonable cost to supplement their income..)
I knew a few people who cut off the back of a similar bus,and made the rear half into a beavertail ramp to haul race cars and mini pulling tractors...the front 20ft or so was the "kitchen" and sleeping quarters..they worked out very well, and the best part was you could register it as a camper, avoiding any CDL permits or DOT regulations...as far as the law was concerned,it was just another winnebago !..
Your going to really enjoy having that rig to party and sleep in at off road events and other activities...nothing beats having your own bathroom, and a familiar bed to pass out on!..![]()

cow killer said:since you mentioned it had a detroit, i am assuming a 8.2. now, is a turbo engien or a N/A engine? if it is a N/A one, you can get a turbo setup off a turboed one and convert yours. but the 8.2 is pretty much a dog. it was detriots pathetic attempt at a 4 stroke. lol
i work on ford/freightliner busses everyday, but ours have 12/24 valve cummins or the new ones have 6 popper mercades bendz engines.
