It's 150 gallon tank off a freightliner, currently empty its setup as a transfer tank for long trips

Yep should make a good donor truck when i find a nice crew cab for swapping

Got some questions, sorry for the hi-jack in advance.
1.With that saddle bag tank off the semi is it set up to gravity feed down to the factory tank the motor pulls from for maximum simplicity or does it actaully have seperate lines running up to it?

2.Also how are those in a crash? Im thinking of adding one inside my burb but am worried in a nasty rear end situation it could ka-boom and send me to kingdom come. Another option would be to run 2 30 gallon fuel cells for optimum safety and itd be easier to hide em that way.

no matter what i do i really would like to run the auxiliary tanks to gravity feed through the filler hose of the factory tank so i dont have to worry with an expensive/prone to failure switch system.

Hi-jack off :)

its set up to gravity feed with a manual valve, it was just rigged up for the trip up the Alcan Highway where fuel is expensive and sometimes hard to find.

Its coming off when the dually bed goes on

Soooo, Any plans for it when the dually bed goes on :haha:. Just kidding, anything more than 50 gallon tank would be too much for me. Ill have to see if i cant find a semi scrapyard local though. Just realized my #3 wasnt even a question, :doah: . Appreciate the input though, i've been thinking of a secondary gravity feed tank although i wasnt sure if it was practical or not. I hadnt though of a manual valve though, Thats a good idea in case of a leak in the main tank or even issues passing smog maybe :dunno: .

I wouldn't put a tank Inside of a burb its a bad idea

Agreed, Not sure where else to put it atm though. And a maximum range of 320 miles towing isnt anywhere near enough. I might just run like 5 15 gallon spare gas tanks semi permanently mounted to a roof rack. Its a bit more of a hassle for daily use but definitley safer and more practical. Gravity feed is the coolest, But i dont see any safe way to make it happen in the burb :(. What have you done in the past to increase Your range?

My 12v is straight piped and dumped under the passenger seat area and I can't imagine removing the silencer ring. It's not too bad right now but what difference did you notice? Was it actually louder or did it just sound different?

Is the KDP on your list of to-do's? If so I'd source the parts individually and make your own tab. I ordered the BD Diesel kit and if I knew then what I know now I'd have just got the parts locally. Napa sells the seals and you can make the tab.
What BHAF did you use? I've seen a list of part numbers on CumminsForum but haven't put one on mine yet.

Nice platform, maybe have a mod move it to the "driveway" so we can keep track of it as you build.

straight piped and silencer ring removed are 2 tooootally different animals. the silencer ring just allows you to hear the compressor whine in the intake up through the air filter.

IMO straight piped dumped that short under the pass side = retarded. the drone alone must make you want to smash your head in :doah::doah:

the straight through "mufflers" that come with all the kits, work great. all they really do is kill the stupid drone. and thats tons. well twin turbos muffle the exhaust alot too. even with a 5" straight pipe. that was no noise issue.

the KPD. you don't need any tab. Peen the case at 4 points around the dowel hole, it will never come out.

ooo if it looks anything like that. and you have an AC line under it. be sure to wrap it up in hose of something protective.

this was $50 or less IIRC at cummins. Fleetguard AH19037

Yeah, I'll pick up the seals from cummins on tuesday when I go to Anchorage and make my own tab but I'm waiting until I get my B-series tools so I can set the timing on the pump at the same time.

I used a Wix BHAF I got from Napa I also ordered the Outerwrap for it and 4000 GSK and I'm gonna make a "100" fuel plate.

Fifth gear is out right now and syncro's in 3rd and 4th are going so I have to double clutch to keep from grinding. So to remedy that I'm gonna install a full billet main and Input shafts and all new bearings and syncro's and a Dual Disc Southbend clutch http://www.southbendclutch.com/dd.html .

Once the trans and clutch are up to snuff I can start pouring the fuel and air to it:woot:

I got mine from Napa it was a bit more expensive, I did put some 3M mastic pads on the contact points off the filter

It's actually not that bad. I've had people ride with me to see what they think and it's not much louder than a big block with a decent exhaust. It is quiet with the windows down and with them up you get a little drone but you can listen to the radio without blasting it and have a conversation without raising your voice at all. I'll run it all the way out the back eventually but this is what I had pipe to do.

Star wheel all the way towards the engine, AFC slid forward #100-plate and smoke screw turned in 3/4's of a turn today and straight piped
