New Tow Rig

Took the Dodge on its Maiden "tow" 700 mile roundtrip from Wasilla to Fox AK to pick up some tires. Averaged 14mpg through some nasty weather and lots off steep hills

Awesome, I can't wait for my maiden tow. I'm getting the itch to hook up to my trailer and throw the k10 on it just to see how it does.

Well after no luck finding a stock bumper for less then a kidney , I picked up this monstrosity with the lights for a good price

Oh and a Big thanks to SledheadAk and Dokwatson for helping me get my new gooseneck trailer today!!

HOLY GIANT FREAKING BUMPER BATMAN!

Looks better than stock though.
But heck what can I say my dodge doesn't have any bumper at all so I guess I don't have a leg to stand on. :)

Is it an Ali Arc rhino lined? or steel beast? cause it kinda looks like an ali arc. nice score though.

Not sure what kind of liner it is, and yeah its definitely not my style but it will serve a purpose .........I can use it to push dead vehicles around and there is enough room and structure there to hang a 12,000 Lbs winch at later date.

no, ali arc isn't a type of liner. its a make of bumper. made from aluminum. that looks like one. but if its steel its not Ali arc. most aluminum moose bumpers on big rigs, are Ali Arc. they make them for pickups as well.

Well seeing Avery's thread made me think of mine. I set the timing at 18 degrees and installled the 4000rpm GSK and Valvesprings, and AFC spring kit.Installed a HX35/40 Hybrid turbo .

I acquired a Couple of HX50 Turbos and will soon begin fabbing up my own twin trubo setup.

My factory clutch is still hanging in there but I baby it as much as possible. I can make it slip in 3rd 4th and 5th unloaded by just rolling into the throttle .

I have the pumped tuned to wear it just slightly hazes on unloaded acceleration it will lay down medum black smoke under heavy load towing but it definetly doesn't "roal coal"

I need to get a new clutch and billet innards for the trans and rebuild my front end, I'm gonna do the F350 outers to ditch the unit bearings and ditch the CAD all together .

I've been kind of stalling ondoing much to the truck itself because I'm still contemplating on robbing the drive train to put in mY V3500

I wouldn't put a tank Inside of a burb its a bad idea

oh come on,,, 67-72 had inside tanks?

Put a stock bed on it, and tub the inner fenders. Stealth dualies like that are sweet!:woot:

that is a cool setup...I've seen a few streetrod trucks like that, and they look pretty sweet.

Well after no luck finding a stock bumper for less then a kidney , I picked up this monstrosity with the lights for a good price

That thing is huge, like it wasn't front end heavy as it was that'll tip the scales huh?

Nice score on the rig Gus!

Haha yeah it actually squatted the truck a full inch once I put a winch up there it will be worse. the truck will get stuck on moist grass in 2wd even with that heavy ass flatbed on it . I don't even want to know what my front and rear axles weights are lol its probably an 80/20 split.

the more I have the flatbed the less I want the dually bed. it sure comes in handy I hauled a TJ tub on it the other day :D and with the way the rear is setup I can push things around with it too just like I can with the front :woot:

It won't win any awards for looks put It sure does get the job done

I'd roll with the flat bed if it was me. I have a lot of people give me crap about my service bed but hey it was already there, doesn't cost me anything to leave it and it does come in handy. :)

How do you like the HX35/40 setup?

I would have rolled a utility body on my dodge if I had the chance. Actually those foresty service bodies are sweet. Like Rene had or has on the crewcab of his.

The hybrid 35/40 is not going to help your egts. That 35 turbine outlet is terribly restrictive 3" hole. The proper 40 atleast goes to a true 4". I used a watercooled holset 40 as first turbo upgrade years ago. Worked great for me.

I have the 40 turbine on mine had to get the 4" downpipe with my new exhaust.

LOL maybe I'm stupid, but I thought thats what the Hybrid was is a 40 turbine with 35 compressor???

I got the turbo used from a buddy I never ran the numbers but I know it has a 4" downpipe
