probably need to get a new/used bed since this one is rusted out.

I like the old toyotas. I have an 86' 4runner.. runs forever, and gets way better gas mileage then the k5. It also lets me use my blazer as more of a toy now...

EDIT: I'm a moron who can't read.

Looks good Steve, I'd love to drive one daily if I could fit in one comfortably.

Screw a new bed, build it like this one: (club member)

A close up of the bed: :haha:

toyotas rust everywhere, im suprised that ones not worse. i dont care if its from arizona, its going to be rusty as hell if its a yota :D

the bed is just the only thing thats badly rusted. The front fenders and tailgate are a little but rusted.

No I'm sure it's IFS, 86+ they used IFS, in 85 they stopped.

Its only had one owners, and it has 232,000KM on it.

yep, older Toy IFS rigs ahd locking hubs. If I were going to build a DD/Trail rig, it would be a 22RE powered Toy.

I had an uncle with one of those that ran fo 400,000 miles with only a tranny replacement at around 275,000. The truck still ran, but finally rusted completely apart. I should do great as a dd. They are also fun on the trail. :waytogo:

Not meaning to hi jack your thread, but my runner is 19 years old and has the original paint. Its a little faded on the hood but there is no rust anywhere...

Wow , that is the cleanest Yota I have ever seen. They rust like anchors here. Most guys here run fibreglass quarter panels on them. Nice 4 runner.

I had a 1980 Toyota for years here in AZ. No real rust to speak of luckily. Was the most dependable, yet gutless vehicle I have owned :p: Always had fresh fluid in it since it was always leaking. But ALWAYS got me from point A to point B. I had to get a bigger ride as the family grew. My daughter bawled her eyes out when I sold it. Have fun with it ! And the pics of the flat bed seem a good way to go.
