New vibration

Just put new springs and 4 inch blocks in back of truck,( 91 cc 4wd) and now I have said vibration/shudder when starting from a dead start. would this be from the driveshaft spline sticking out past its norm from the carrier bearing? On a side note the truck looks all hot rod now with its rear sicking in the clouds and the front on its dead stock springs

drop the carrier bearing around 3/4 - 1 inch and also check the condition of the carrier bearing and rubber isolator its in .


and you now need a sticker DRAGON WAGON for the a$$ high stance now.

Will check the carrier bearing more closely now. But first to put the front springs in and then put the heavy ash (@3500#s) camper on it! That'll bring the butt down at least 4 inches!

Well the camper is on and the vibration did lessen,I guess its time to shim it. Any ideas where to get shims?

bar stock from local hardware store shelf . drill the 2 hols and if need be add longer bolts .

you should try 1/4 in first .

Went under today to take a look and I need a new carrier. Sooooo how do I change this/ take off rear driveshaft/slide out of carrier then the unbolt carrier?

mark the shafts to get them back together correctly .

then need to tap off the old unit and press / tap on the new one . some easy some little hard.

reinstall.

Soooo i scrib the line and take down shafts,no problem,try to get bearing off and there is a problem. I mosey down to the driveshaft shop and he takes the bearing off and puts new one on. I go home too put them back up and think to myself, while its out lets make it purdy sooooo out comes the wire wheel and paint and I get half way thru and DUH you guessed it whered' my line go!! Anyway linedup the ruff paint lines on both shafts (where it was most rusty] and slam it back in. Took it for a ride and all seems fine. I swear this truck and my stupidity fight me all the time!

That's a good place to start. If you're looking for a kit DIY4X makes some nice ones, and they are steel, not aluminum. I am pleased with mine.
