after the lift now I have gear train vibes/ noise. when the Burb was stock the T-case shifter would rattle a bit but now there is this gear grindey sound??? is this from the increase in driveshaft angle? Super annoying! Any ideas???

Because you now have driveline vibrations in the rear, the gears in the 205 get noisy (especially with your foot off the gas, right?)

The only fix is a CV shaft in the rear.

Yeah you got it spot on the nose! What a PITA.
So a CV shaft is the only cure huh? Thats also a pita... means I have to move the spring perches to set the pinion on the axle, right? Do you think that the pinoin angle is off? And is this gonna grenade my 205 or just drive me nuts? would less lift help? say 4"

Just go to the driveline shop and get a cv at the t-case end. No need to move perches or anything else. Just bolt on the new shaft.

:doah: $$$$$ I think I have 100 miles on my new shaft:doah: :doah: I may have to do it though.... so is my 205 gonna GRENADE?

The shop can use most of the shaft you have already.

The 205 might start to leak, and the bearings will suffer at the t-case and rear axle from the vibes.

You would need to point the pinion about 1 degree below the t-case ouput (to account for axle wrap). You don't necessarily need to move the perches, they sell shims to correct the pinion angle (get steel ones, the aluminum ones break).

Less lift might help a little, but I only had 4" on mine and it was really noisy even with a balanced shaft.

I don't think the 205 will be hurt by any of this. If you can't fell the vibes, I don't think they're bad enough to really hurt the bearings or seals.

:dunno: :dunno: we'll see how it goes... drove about 60 miles today and it was more when i got into the gas at part throttle and went away when coasting? What a pain shoulda left it stock:(
