Just went and finally bought this bad boy:

I have been dreaming about it for a year and some change and I finally have one of my own. :D Now I just need a plasma cutter, bender, and a TIG and I will be set and happy for a while, haha.

Very Nice!:D

Im wondering, why lincon over the miller?

I've used the Lincoln 255 previouslly and loved it. So familiarity with the machine is nice. I've always had Lincolns and again, loved them. I don't have any other reasons than that. Well the Miller was slightly more through my local supplier as well so that made the choice easier.

The guy at the local welding store said they rarely sell Lincolns anymore. Said he was lucky to sell one red machine every few months. I said "well you are selling one today" ha. He had like 6 Millers on display and only 3 Lincolns, of which this was one.

We use Miller almost exclusively at work...but I still prefer Lincoln personally. Oddly enough when I was looking for a machine I found my Miller on sale and couldn't tough a comparable Lincoln for the same money so I ended up with a Miller machine at home.

Either machine is awesome IMO. It's the Hobarts I don't care for.

ugh, I need a lot of practice. I'm really freaking rusty. Oh well. Worked on building a welding bench this afternoon. After Dad decided he wanted it built different and we fought for a while, I just gave in and changed the design a bit(granted his idea is way better, but I had already built it my way). Well with just giving in I just listened to his measurement for hwat I needed, and didn't bother double checking. Sure enough, that was dumb. Now 2 legs are 2" too long. So I need to chop that off.

Congrats! Looks like mine only cleaner :)

What did they add to make it a 255C vs. the old 255.

thats a great welder you got there. would love to have a bigger unit but my Miller 175 does me just fine.

110 outlets on the back of the machine are all I really know thats different.

Sweet! I have a little Millermatic 135. A friend of mine is a welder and he's going to get me a little Miller TIG for about $800. I've only used a TIG once, and I did better with it than I've ever done with the MIG.
