My window glass broke because it was hit by welding slag. Since I am doing a rebuild I put new window felt in as well. Checked the regulator, all teeth are present. Motor is new and regulator and rollers are well lubricated. The inner and outer window gaskets are NOT installed yet.

The driver side window does not go up all the way. About 1" left to go.

When I installed the new motor I made sure the teeth on the regulator engaged and that the regulator was in the fully down position.

With the window almost all the way up, and when I put my hand down in there I can feel that there are plenty of teeth on either side of the motor so it's not like the regulator has run out of them.

Any ideas ?

Do you mean the felt along the bottom of the window opening or the ones on the sides/top? I was referring to the sides that the edges of the glass run up and down in.

I got all new moldings the one piece that the window slides in (Big U shaped) and the 2 that go into the window opening on the door (inner and outer).

I have not installed the 2 that go into the window opening on the door yet. Only the big U shaped one.

Your saying to lube the felt U shaped one?

What will that do to the felt ?

Went out to put silicon spray on felt. Tried window with engine running... lol success.... Guess the battery got low

Thanks for the help.

Well then... Easy fix. But to answer your other question, putting grease on it would make it greasy :) If you are going to do this I would recommend putting it on a Q-tip and then running the Q-tip through the rubber channel, the same goes for the silicone I suppose.
