I’m fixing a bunch of wiring and my next circuit is the stock electric fuel pump.

I’m using an aftermarket dash harness so all of the OE pump wiring is gone except for the power wire that goes from the engine compartment to the pump.

I have a universal 40a relay (see diagram) that wants an inline fuse. Is a 20a fuse ok? I’ve done some light searching and it’s hard to pin down a clear answer since the power originally comes from the ECM.

I didn't know you talked about yourself in the third person.
Just kidding, I still can't believe he's gone, it happened quick.
I still see his tech posts all over the internet. Lost a great technical thinker when he was taken

The ECM only controls the ground for the relay.
A 20A fuse for the load side is good.
