So Just picked up a new to me Blazer. Needs new shocks. Question is,

Can I use Shocks for a 6" lift system now till I get my lift bought and put on next summer?

I really dont want to spend 150 on Shocks just to replace them next summer with new Lift shocks?

Not really. You wont have any down travel. You will destroy those $150 shocks and need more anyways.

Buy cheaper ones if you need them, run em, lift it and sell the old ones.

Short answer is no, or at least it's a bad idea.

Long answer is that you could measure and compare that to the shocks you'd be getting ... but they prolly won't even fit. And if they did fit at rest, any bump up could compress the shocks past their limit, which isn't good for them. They should have a little margin at maximum compression.

Wait and do it all at once; otherwise you'd prolly be replacing the shocks again when they're bent to hell =))

Fixed it.

I may happen to have the stock length shocks that I put in mine a year.5 before I put the lift in and had to replace them anyways. Same situation as you...

This part of the forum is not for selling/trading stuff though so you may have to PM me. You may need to be a member first though...

If its a 6 inch lift shock on a stock truck it will be bottomed out at ride height and when the the axle tries to move up it will blow the shock is what i meant. I was thinkin body moving down... Whatever im sick lol, benedryl makes me think funny lol.
