Dude, I have always loved Burbs (notice screename) and your has got to one of the sweetest off-road rigs I've seen!!

Could you summarize your mods? Was it too much work? What would you have done different?

I ask as I've got a nice Conversion Burb that, if it doesn't get sold, needs to be made into something I'd like to use again. I've got a D60, 14B w/ detroit, 4.56s, doubler, TH400, 38's, lifts, hydro-assist set-up, etc that just needs to be put to a good use (other than taking up storage space in my garage). If I could make my Burb look like that, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Then 4-link the rear

I was already thinking of doing this with my burb one day now I really want too. Can you give more details on where you cut, what was moved and wheres your gas tank? I was thinking of just getting a blazer soft top when/ if I go this route and half doors ( side doors) nice barn doors though.

hey guys- sorry its been a while ive been going threw my axles for a ride coming up. lemme try to answer all the ?s here
1. yes the back barn doors still function, i was very suprised after hacking it how sturdy the doors- and entire body was for that matter. Of course i capped of the doors like a half door with some sheet metal and now they are good to go. I will admit though the 2nd door section has a little give while on the trail you can see it move while in alot of flex but a better cage design will probably fix that.

2. as far as a blazer top fittin it, i thought about doing it and never went any farther then that. i do have a k5 sittin here and i will look and see how the top sizes up, and i will let yall know if you could do it or not. i just like having it open.

3. i cut it along the rear most window lines. I didnt run the back doors or side windows due to a tree gettin he the way and knocking them out so i just followed the side window lines across the roof- then i layed the pinch weld over because i figured cuttin it would weaken the burb terrible, then i cut the frame directly after the shackle flip and capped the frame with a 4" channel. Next i cut 7" off the ass end which was layin on the ground- cut an additional 7" outta the body and molded the lights and rear section on. next was a lil filler here and there and there she is. after the last few climbs ive done i got a few more dents here and there sice i took off those slider type things but oh well.

4. i picked up a HUGE cell from a friend really cheap and put it directly where the step up from the 2nd seat to the back area is. as with any other cell i know of, it lets water in so im working on a new aluminum on. I just mounted it there for better weight transfer over my rear axle along with my tool box full of junk because i lost alot of rear wieght- along with flex . but sometimes you give a little i guess. i do like the departure angle that definetly makes up for the little bit of traction and flex loss.
