Center Of Gravity, Damnit.

Also in need of some lowering. Why would these guys go through the difficulties (DSs, steering, springs and other angles) of building their trucks tall and tippy, when you *will* get better results with a "low" and easier lifted/SASed truck ? :doah:

Dont know if this is SFA though. What is fun with filling your truck with mud, anyway ?

Thanks for letting me know. I've been a fan of that rig since I first seen it in the magazine. The rig is still in Minden?

Yep that truck is still Minden/Gardnerville. When i was home on the weekend from school, i saw it parked at Raleys.

Thats cool. I'm going to be moving to Nevada next year, so I'll probably be seeing it as often as you do, I hope.

I didn't know that.. well it LOOKS trail worthy..

Looked. :doah:

Here is a Norwegian C2500, not modified or anything. But atleast he dares to use it:

Lets see you guys *wheel* your trucks, SFA or not..

:doah: :doah: He did take it out to wheel once in the last few months. He broke the sector shaft off of his steering. It was very difficult for my son to pull him to pavement so a wrecker could pick him up.
BTW he was on the trail for about 10 minutes. He broke in a place I went with my Blazer when it was stock.
lol :doah:

Seriously though, what is the point of a truck like that when you dont use it outside pavement ? Its stupid in every way, get a Cadillac for that kind of cruising..

does this truck look like a rock-crawler or trail truck? my money is that he built if for mud and looks. Just because trail-riding and rock crawling require a specific setup does not mean everything else does :eek1: . Mudders need taller lifts, yes they can get by with 44's on stock suspension, but do not do as well in the long pits as guys with 10+ lifts on 44s.
BAWGHAWGPIT4.jpg

my truck above is made for mud at 8' wide it won't fit on many trails or rocks

Well, mudtrucks aint my territory at all, but 44s on a stock suspensionsystem sounds stupid - whatever vehicle. Im just saying, dont build your rigs so tall people !

Nice truck you have BTW, though. My father have a '53 4400 IIRC. I hate your tires though ! :doah: (Hawgs ?)

tall is fun and if done correctly is safe to drive if the person behind the wheel knows how to drive and drive it correctly.

to each there own. on this side of the big pond we like tall. on your side it must be small.:wink1:

Ya, ya. First of, "tall" is a relative term. Your truck doesnt look too bad in height actually, some are just plain stupid. The *only* thing that I can think of being advantegeous with a "high" truck is when crossing deep water. But, also here COG is a important factor. Not to nag either, but why is it fun ? Exercise getting into the truck ? :D

WillysWanters fabulous truck for example - looks perfect in height, do you think it looks small ? ;)

(Actually on my side we have a very few number of Advanced Built vehicles at all.. :()

driving down the road i tend to get more respect from the stupid little drivers. and knowing i built it and its legal and safe to drive is the happy time.

yes some are stupid tall and ugly as hell. but when done correctly and to scale of truck axles and tires , then it looks good.

we americans like big stuff and thats the way we build them.

this is my other truck i will have for a street show /cruiser some day. but all the stuff in it is big and beefy. specs are in my profile.
