No downshift 700

TV cable is bad or something with it right?

All other shifting is fine

That it would. Even my NV4500 is pretty nice compared to a 3 or 3.5 speed. And a real 5-speed would be better yet, IMO.

Have you reset the TV cable? I doubt it has broken or you wouldn't have enough line pressure to call the shifts normal.

So checked the TV cable it's frayed so it's getting replaced. Tried to reset it. No go. Still no downshift in drive under acceleration. Oddly enough if you put it in 3rd it will downshift.

So the only thing that it's doing is not downshifting in ( over)drive. When I move down to drive it does downshift.

What the deal is?

When you step on the accelerator, does the torque converter unlock?

Could be a stuck valve, like in the C/D combo. A TV or MTV problem should affect all downshifts. Hopefully Greg knows what causes this.

Yes converter unlocks when stepping on it.

Sorry guys I have been so busy sometimes I don't get on here as much as I would like. If the cable has restricted travel from the fray then that could for sure be the problem. Install the new cable and be sure it is as tight as it can be at wide open open throttle. If that doesn't clear the problem I would take a look at the governor and make sure the shaft isn't loose on the main body where they join.
