No RTV with metal/rubber one piece oil pan gasket, right?

I bought the nice Fel-Pro One piece gasket (the one with the metal inside, and the blue silicone/rubber encasing it) for the oil pan on my 454 BBC. I am about to reinstall the pan (cleaned it, painted it, etc), and I want to double check that I don't need black RTV in addition to the gasket. I know the factory used it, and when you use the irritating 4 piece system (which I hate) you need it in the corners and to hold it in, but I am 93% sure I don't need any RTV on the fancy gasket.

Correct?

And no, there were no instructions with the gasket.

all the gasket and metal parts its sealing bone dry no oil or rtv of any kind. and these gaskets go on real tight so dont be afraid you are doing somthing wrong.

and lots of newer gaskets these days that look like 1 big molded ring of silicone type stuff do not get rtv also. the oil that contacts them swells them up to 30% or so to make a tight seal. rtv will deactivate this reaction and make the gasket leak.

you still want a small dab anywhere 2 metal pieces make contact, i.e. the 4 corners, or you can still get leaks.

All the 1 piece oil pan gaskets I've used there was always rubber in those corners already. No RTV and I've never had an issue.

No sealer anywhere with that style gasket. Is the oil pan a stock pan? The reason i ask is because i just built an engine and was going to use that style oil pan gasket but i was using a Canton oil pan and that style gasket could not be used as the front would not seal (i could slide a .035" feeler gauge between the gasket and oil pan radius at the front).

I stand by this, I would rather put a dab on then have to pull the pan again because of a small leak.

Stock pan. I wanted to get a slightly deeper Milodon type pan, but I didn't want to give up the clearance, and those puppies are expensive. :)

My 07 Ram uses those style gaskets on the diffs. I just changed out the fluid on both diffs, and reinstalled the gaskets without any RTV as per the manual. I've gone over 3000 miles with nary a leak.......

TIFWIW......
