1986 k5 305 stop running no spark bout complete distrutir from Amazon no spark checked getting 12v with key on to coil what am I missing how to check. Moduel

This is a normal HEI distributor ? No electronic spark timing ?
1st thing I would like you try is take the cap off and have someone crank the engine while you watch the rotor. Is it turning ?
2nd make sure there is a good ground, the dist grounds through the hold down to the intake. Make sure your engine ground is good also.
The HEI dist is pretty self contained, if it has 12 volt and turns it should spark. Esp if brand new. rebuilt 50/50.

I inspected the rotor, it and the cap seem pretty worn. I put new ones on just now and tried to crank it but it didn’t go. After the battery charges I’ll try it again and see how she goes. I’ll go look for grounds right now.
Distributor grounds through the hold down make sure is clean and tight
