No start after odd hesitation issue

Kain thank you for giving me some direction, why do you say that? I could attempt a rebuild just for the learning process, unless there is a more appropriate replacement that would suit me better.
 
I wouldn't jump to replacing the carb yet.
I still have one if those on my big block in my '70....
Now you may need to open it up and see what's going on. I responded in the "flooding" thread, but did you get to check out the choke plate action yet?

The down side to one if these carbs is really the intimidation factor of them being more complex when compared to some carbs...
 
when they give you crap you can spin your wheels tinkering or rebuild it and know its good. once rebuilt right they do tend to last it just meticulous to rebuild em. a how to vid can be help full in this area, and a chem dip can or make your own version of a chem dip can

True, but some if the tinkering is to diagnose some, and see if there are any external factors.
