:haha::haha::haha::thumb:

let the spending begin!!!:pimp:

If you are looking to get started with a K5 I would suggest a TBI truck. I have always like the TBI system. It is reliable and not a quirky set up that needs constant attention.

I will enjoy my new toy, It passed smog today all that is left is DMV, breaks, new front seat, and a blinker switch and it will be done for now. But as for money pit ????? it is to be determined lol so far:
Blazer-$1200
Muffler-$50
Tune up/rear U-joint-$110
Radiator hose-$20
Antifreeze/ Oil change-$50
Smog-$40
Dmv-$379

Total $1849

To come:
Breaks/ rotors-$100
Front Seat-$100

Your list shall soon be much longer with much more expensive things mwahahahaha :D

Congrats on the new rig!

I'd probably spend more on the brakes though. New Rotors, pads and calipers but check them out first.

Seats...etc....you need to find a good junkyard like a u-pull type place. I got a front seat for $20 and it cleaned up nicely. Who knows what else you find out there but it's a great source to keep you in "budget"....

Hey I am down in Lincoln, CA not far from you, if you need any help or advise, don't hesitate to ask.

Yah i have been watching the pick in pulls in my area but there is a pretty limited selection of stuff for blazers.
But as for the breaks my Dad is actually a mechanic and gets a business discount is why they are so cheap, i am defiantly not going to go with the cheap breaks but thanks for the advise i need all the help i can get lol pretty much my blazer runs and drives. Other than that the interior and stuff is pretty much all bad lol, but that is not a terrible thing because, i see all the things on here that can be done to customize them so i pretty much have a blank slate to work with and for now its pretty much just gonna be my wheelin rig so it doesnt have to be pretty.

As far as budget goes When i sold my wrangler i had $4000 cash to spend and i knew i needed a commuter car but also wanted a blazer to go with it because i have never owned a vehicle that is not 4X4 so i knew i wouldnt be able to go with out. So i spent $2000 on a 92 integra and i am pretty much on budget with the blazer at $2000 so im pretty happy with the way it has worked so far

quoted for future ha-ha!!!!:haha::haha::haha::haha:

Just watch craigslist. I know around here at least none of the pick n pulls have vehicles this old. All 90s and up mostly

Keep in mind that you don't just need blazers to pick from....you can find things from the same era of pickups and Suburbans, too. Like 1980 to 1991......a pretty large window of parts. :waytogo:

Because you mentioned brakes and discount parts you might consider the following too:
New front ball joints
New front axle bearings (in rotors)
New front axle shaft u-joints

This is a larger job for sure but if you take your rotors off, you might consider continuing and do the ball joints and axle shafts. Jack up each side and try and move the wheel side to side and up and down. Check for any movement in the ball joint area.

And so it begins..............

First, looks like a 4" lift and front fenders trimmed. It's a good height to be at.

I will say x2 on the front end parts. While you have it apart to do the brakes (being a spelling nazi here) anyway.

And for the seats, look in the tech articles section. There is a good thread in there about putting new seats in an old truck or something like that. It's a damn fine article. Wonder who wrote that anyway... :whistle:

Nice score for the price. Welcome to CK5!
