Okay, so I live 15 miles north of California. With the exception of McGrew trail, there's no REAL and LEGAL wheeling within quite a few hours drive. What are the northernmost awesome wheeling places? I'm thinking like a range of 90 miles or so into CA.

What about the Coos Bay, OR area? Aren't there all kinds of logging roads out there still? I haven't been there since 1988, but there were also some dunes to play on north of town.

I like wheelin the Rubicon but its too far away from your limit.

Yeah, I'm hoping to run the Rubicon this summer. I'm just trying to find places where I don't have to plan a huge long weekend to wheel. Like doing a Saturday run. I think the trail head for the Rubicon is 8 hours away. Not too bad, but I'd need a 4 day weekend for a trip like that.

I'll have to do some research about that. I know the dunes are out there, but I don't have much interest in dunes/sand. There's lots of logging roads ALL over Oregon - but I'm more interested in doing technical stuff. ;)

There's some good stuff up here. It would be great to get a bunch of y'all up here for a week or two. I could show you wheeling that you can barely imagine.

Let me know when you are ready to do a run on the Rubicon. I might be organizing an all fullsize rig run on the 'Con sometime this summer.

Id have a looksie for the northern most names of counties and national forests areas. The USFS and BLM typically lists all 4x4 trails etc. Might get ya headed in the right direction and possible hook up with others out in the area who know some of the non listed less used trails. Id think Northern Ca and So Oregon would be loaded with fun places.

Count me IN! Will you have any special requirements - i.e. Winch, lockers, cb, etc? I likely won't have a winch, I'm locked in the rear, I'll have good tow points and I might have a cb...

most of southern oregon is closed to class 2 OHV. There's a ton of stuff available to classes 1 and 3 tho... i just happen to not care at all about 1 or 3. :(

Locked out back is a must and a CB will be highly recommended. Good solid towing points are also a must if you don't have a winch.

Sweet looks like we could get some solid turn out for a full size run on the rubicon. Some one make a thread, might as well gets some dates set so people can get off work or start counting down the days
