He knows to go 8.8...... I've been hunting them down, for him, for months.
NOW IT'S TIME TO ACTUALLY BUY ONE, CHRIS!!!
NOW IT'S TIME TO ACTUALLY BUY ONE, CHRIS!!!

8.8 swap and be done. 8.8 > D44 in the Jeep world. Plus readily available c-clip elimination kits.
And that high pinion D30 front isn't a bad axle either. They seem to hold up well up to 35" tires.
Agreed. Jeep guy at my work did the 8.8 swap from an explorer, said it was easy and worthwhile. Added benefit is rear disc brakes too. His axle was $200, I think he spent $80 on other parts like brackets and what not.

If I knew.
I have been seing these waggies here at pnp all the time driver side right?
Now, why would you want wider axles? The K5 had those already.![]()

Yeah driver drop. and non disconnect is what i need
Theres 2 of these at pnp right now and ones already 90% pulled. Just hanging by the shocks.
Only reason i know is thats what im gonna run on my s10 and pondered pulling it but pnp are stupid high on prices

I might go to one tm and see what they got.
Doubtlfull but theyve always surprised me in the past.
Only time to hit pnp on big ticket items is when they have there 50% off sales
63-65in WMS is perfect IMO. if you go 65in just run some wheels with 5 or 4.5in back spacing rather than 2.5 or 3.
Yeah. I think I'm gonna have to wait till tax return time to get this done. I think I can set aside 1200 or so to get this done. May try and find a set of axles geared already. We will see
Yeah I noticed that from a few jeep guys I wheeled with. I think I would like that more than full widths... Although I could always run em with high offset wheels and get the same width. I keep looking at your thread with those radius arms and getting ideas. How much do you have roughly in your radius setup?
Just build another Blazer it will be easier in the end.![]()

Well lets see Ive gotta do a run down.
Bronco Coils: $80 new
Bronco Radius arms to hack up: $100
Wedge mounts to add on axle: $85
Tube to make arms and panhard: $150
Ballistic coil buckets: $100
Ford shock towers: $30
Shocks: had em, think they were $60 for the pair
Johnny joints and heim joints: $100
Random steel for panhard mount and lower coil buckets: $50
So give or take Ive got $750 in that front suspension. I can give you some advice that I was given and didnt follow that I really regret. DO NOT USE COILS UP FRONT! Spend the money and get some budget coilovers, not air shocks, coil overs. They are SO much easier to package its not even funny.
Also after this build I would never use the ford style wedge radius arms again on and axle that didnt come setup for them. By the time I bought wedges, spent all that time beefing them, and how hard they were to design I wish I would have just done a single tube radius arm with poly bushings at the axle and johnny joints on the frame and a solo lower link on the passenger side.
X2 You should sell the YJ and get a K5.

Well that doesn't seem too bad, I agree on the radius arm thought. The only way I was gonna run em was if I picked up a ford 44 with the wedges already on em. Otherwise I would just spend a little more and do a 3link with pan hard. That is a good thought to have on the back of my head.
Im strongly considering a super 8.8 for the back of my trooper... Bronco axles are WAY too narrow, like 58in and f150 axle is too wide so forget getting the right width and running wedge radius arms...
Run a waggy 44 at 63in WMS with a super 8.8 in the back at 62in with 1/2 spacers.
Whats your width right now?
