NorthWest Fab doubler 'Black Box'

They had some problems a couple years back, they really work well. Problems was with the guy they hired to put them together forgetting to put a couple important pieces in.

I really like them

It is basically the same as a Klune V. The Klune has been around for a good while.

I believe they use the planetary set from a np241, so one could be built easily with factory parts, similar the popular 231/D300 doublers, the 231's have a large plantary set as well, the weak link on those set-ups is the AL case. I have thought about building a steel box to install the gears in, start with a clocking ring to get the right bolt pattern....

Yep, and they use the same planetary set up on the front of the Atlas 4spd. As far as the aluminum case goes, I have yet to hear of any case failures on the Klunes. I don't know anybody running the Black Box so I have no ideas on any of them failing.

Yeah I should have read my post, I was refering to the cast aluminum weakness in the 231/D300 doublers(by cutting a 231 in 1/2), I was trying to suggest a 241/205 doubler and note that the weak link would be the front 1/2 of the old cast aluminum case...

I have not ever seen a klune fail due to the case either, but I have seen one twist off its mainshaft:eek1: into a Dana20
