The aftermarket on 5 tons is a lot smaller than the 2.5tons... and they do indeed weigh a lot more.

Unless you are going HUGE on tires... there is no need for 5 tons.

And 10.88 gears? Thats a negative in my book, not a positive.
 
Just got home with a set of Rocks. Strike up another one for Craigslist. Goin' further over the edge..........

Just like the world of D60 ownership.....the cost to acquire the axle(s) is the cheap part of the swap.

yea congrats!!! i saw your thread looking for disc brake brackets! goin deeper and deeper but its gonna be sweet i bet:D
 
I had considered using 5 ton Rockwells for mine, until realizing their size after hauling them. This set had 6.17 gears.
