Not a Fitech-Now a Sniper 2 and boat anchor

My radio died the other day, and I found the ACC circuit fuse to be blown. It is now instantly blowing with nothing extra connected to it in the fuse panel, so it looks like a short to ground.

So that circuit feeds a tan and a brown wire under the hood, both safely tied off and not touching anything. I clipped them off 18” from the junction block and taped up the ends, the circuit quit blowing. Go me.

So the other day, I snapped the hinge on my glove box.
I got a new one from LMC before it occurred to me that I could probably put a piano hinge on there.

So I used this video for removal:

Which leads to this nut that is inexplicably octagonal. Looks like a half inch wide.

Yep half inch tube is the right width. I wonder if I can make a four pointer for this.

So I knocked off the corners with the bandsaw and scored!!

I've put piano hinges on a couple of glove boxes and it works fine. It's so far under the curve of the dash, you don't notice the difference.

Lizard Skin day three is complete. I started Friday and blew through the first gallon before the first coat was finished. I booked it to Summit Racing to pick more up before they closed.

Turns out, I forgot how to drive over the last two months. All of my lane changes were horribly timed. It was embarrassing.

I went ahead and picked up four gallons of each, I should be doing the Falcon soon as well, so it will get used.

This stuff pours like cold honey. It goes on just like bedliner with their $85 kit including gun. It comes with a little thickness gauge that works great. You’re aiming for 20 mils per coat and 80 overall with both products.

Looks the same both days. Friday has a thin spot on right rear corner.

I waited 28h to start the insulation coat. It didn’t quit tack up for me today, so I’ll have to wait to finish.

I’m going to bedliner the rear section. That are is just the drawers, air and gas storage.

Apparently you do have a cat that likes to visit you tho.

Yeah it got in on the first coat as well, but that one was dried. If it can find a meal in there, I'm all for it. I say leave me some mouse parts in a pile by the door so I know it's earning its keep.

Pro tip everyone.

If you order a vinyl floor made for your truck. Don't take it out of the box and put it in the sun to get the packaging folds out of it.

That same heat will convert it back into a nice flat piece of vinyl...

This seems surprising to me. I put mine out on the concrete in the sun, and still had to use a heat gun and welding gloves to work it into place.
:dunno:

In the photos of your ammo can mount, there are some silver spacer-type things in the bottom of the can. Those look to be made specifically for the purpose of mounting the compressor in the can...where did those come from? I think my 450c is the same size, I'd like to do exactly what you did, it looks a lot more sturdy than just running the mounting bolts through the bottom of the can, plus I'm hoping they would keep the bolts from protruding out the bottom?

The compressor isn't attached to the can. The can't isn't to the truck. I think I'm going to get a Swag Off Road mount for the can. I haven't totally settled on how it is going to end up. The drawers have the air compressor mount, and I'm planning to move them rearward and it might rework the whole ammo can.

@anwat

Here is a close up of the compressor base. It’s a plate with rubber dampers attaching the compressor.

It’s just a snug fit in the fat can

I didn't get that bottom piece with my compressor...mine just has the smaller brackets and then some allen head bolts. I looked on the Vivair site and couldn't find that bottom piece...any idea where it came from? It looks like it was made to fit that can, not a bad idea, and wouldn't be too hard to make, but it would surely look better if I didn't make it myself!
