Not a Fitech-Now a Sniper 2 and boat anchor

What front locker you leaning towards?
Currently leaning towards OX.

Can actuate however I want, and they have the get me home plug that can be installed if the shifting failed. Then removed at the end of the trail.

Trans is halfway there. I forgot to order a pump alignment tool. Supposed to deliver today. 5F06D100-106C-4D0A-8B96-713AE827DAB7.jpeg
No upgrades here. Clutches and steels look good, pan was clean.

BB23 punch list:
Reseal Transmission and transfer cases
Front Locker
Rebuild Storage
Remove tow hitch
Move rear axle back 2-3 inches.

Stretch goal: LS Swap and 700r4/4L60E

I have nearly completed my Transmission and Transfercase teardown debacle.
The Fitech is now fighting me as hard as it can.

Test drive today.

Fitech runs but now the screen is totally dead, so there is no way to interact with it. I have a stall when it just barely give throttle from idle, so it might be Holley Sniper time.

The doubler is now popping out of gear. It was coming out of low before, so I shortened the linkage, now it's coming out of high, so I guess I went too far. Good thing I didn't measure.

The transmission is mostly there. First and Second are good, but third gear is immediately downshifting to second whenever I do get it to shift. Right now it'll go into third for about a second if I shift from 2 to D. Detent cable has slack, so I don't think it is that.

Things that changed:

Sealing rings on pump replaced - one broke. Replaced with same style stainless.

Modulator changed from red ban back to stock. 1-2 shift feels good, it used to be pretty hard.

New gasket on pump, and new gasket on plate/valvebody, new filter.

If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears.

Stupid modulator hose came off. Trans is good, though still leaking like a sieve. Freaking awesome.

Burned a power wire to a crisp. I think that was what was causing fitech issues.

Found a nipple on the back of the intake missing a cap, so the vacuum leak looks like it was causing my stalling. I putted around the yard a little and it never stalled. I'm going to take it out after work hopefully and put some miles on it.

Looks like you're doing a good job working through each issue as it pops up. Keep it up and you'll be gtg soon.

What's the long-term reliability on those ox's now? Looked into them years ago, but drifted...

I really don't know. The purchase was driven by how they work and the thing that put me over the top was the bolt they sell to lock it if all your cable and wiring breaks.
I've been struggling to make 2-3 trips a year, so I don't think I'll wear on it too fast.

I have an inline adapter for a fuel pressure gauge that won't seal for nothing.... I wonder if that's what's wrong with it

So it turns out that I’m not a transmission builder.

After a few tries I put I n a TCI. It failed within 10 miles, so we RMA’d it.

We finished the install of the replacement tonight.

Additional back story: we put a reman 350 and a Sniper on it. The sniper was kicking ass.
