Not sure what is wrong.

Doesn't "welded diff" refer to welding the parts back together?

In a basic sense you don't really need 4 spider gears, just the 2 sides and either the top or bottom. So you can probably limp a vehicle around by just pulling the broken one. You could theoretically just drop in another set of spiders and call it done, but chances are the whole thing's on borrowed time.

What's the plan?

considering 2 ring gear bolt heads do not exist, I am not sure. Center block is missing a couple of chunks. None of this is in the housing! That means it was put back together this way. Who does stuff like this?

The thing I can not figure out is, how do I get the Governor pins out? No holes on the left side to drive them with a punch. Never seen this before. Was hoping to remove the ring gear bolts and reuse the gear and carrier. The locker portion is fine and the governor gear looks good.

took me 3 axles from the local parts yard before we got a good one . that was with them pulling and supplying them .

the gm 10bolt has a huge problem with spider gears and gov-locs . . . always pop the cover and look and see the color of the oil . or you will be sorry .

If I can figure out how to get the cam pins out, I will put new gears in. Blazer is going up for sale, so I would rather do it right.

Maybe it was a trail fix turned permanent?

Somebody butchered it.Every gear but the ring and pinion are toast. Including the locker cam and ring gear.

In searching I have found out that th spider gears for the g80 no longer exist in new form. So now what?

Going to back my 03 silverado in and do some measuring. I can pick up rear axles for $150. Just need the correct ratio or its not worth it.

Wade what gears do you need? I have 10 bolt sitting on the side of the garage with g80 and 3.73's if interested .

From my 87 K5 just let me know.

Kinda crappy pic since dark outside.

Been sitting outside with cover on for a year guessing.

Looks perfect to me. How much do you want for it? Plus shipping of course. If you don't mind pulling it out and maybe removing the ring gear to lighten it up.
