Last time I drove my truck th350/203, I noticed a scraping sound. I crawled underneath and it looks like the cv coupling on the front shaft is just touching the crossmember, so as the driveshaft turns, it scrapes the crossmember. The ujoints are good and I dont think it should be that close. So is it safe to say the t-case mounts are worn out ?

that or your lift is bigger than 4 inch which is pulling your driveshaft farther down torward the crossmember.mine has a cv shaft so it pushes the shaft out about 4 inches before it drops to the axle.maybe you should look and see if this will work for you also.that or your mounts are shot.

You didn't read what he said, the CV is hitting the crossmember.

its the cv knuckle that is scraping, not the shaft. I figure the mounts are pretty beat up, so the weight of the 203 and tranny are putting the cv that close. I looked at some pics of other trucks and the cv is about an inch or so away from the crossmember.

Yep, sounds like it is time for some new mounts, especially with a 203, they are heavy buggers.
